Dreamtime Sail

Rob and Karen Oberg spent a year and 7,200 nautical miles crewing on other people's boats in SE Asia and Europe before cruising the Med for 2 seasons with crewmate, Marc Beerts, on a Jeanneau 43 DS, Alcheringa (Alcheringa is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning 'The Dreamtime'). On returning to Australia they acquired a Whitby 42 ketch, renamed her 'Our Dreamtime' and after cruising Australia's Great Barrier Reef extensively are now sailing in SE Asia. Total sea miles to date = 24,273 NM.

We discover the secret hideaway of Australia's first ever sex siren of the silver screen.- Ep 38

After another stop in Coral Seas Marina at Airlie Beach, it's time to leave the Whitsunday Islands behind and continue our journey south through Australia's Great Barrier Reef. We make a short, upwind hop to anchor at Happy Bay on Long Island in anticipation of favourable northerly winds forecast for the next day.

No such luck as we face more upwind sailing to the Newry Islands. Here we discover the secret hideaway of Australia's first ever sex siren of the silver screen. Who? Well here's a tip. As the star of the 1916 film 'A Daughter of the Gods' she was the first major actress to appear nude in a Hollywood production. All music in this episode is by Epidemic Sound.
