Our various boat problems last year put a big hole in our cruising kitty so we're trying to rectify that at the moment. You're right about Shute Harbour. Last time we anchored in there it was full of derelict boats. Debbie has at least cleaned them out but we're so sad for the owners of the well maintained ones that also got hammered. Cheers!Rob and Karen Oberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10301516161788915535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4210461039477374674.post-89179346982705201772017-04-10T14:59:10.054+02:002017-04-10T14:59:10.054+02:00Hello Karen and Rob.

We share your thoughts about their advantages over being tied to a finger that can break.<br />Rob and Karen Oberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10301516161788915535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4210461039477374674.post-1102187731954826102017-04-07T08:08:30.764+02:002017-04-07T08:08:30.764+02:00I think you are spot on with this article. It takes maybe 2-3 hours to get your sails and bimini of and clear the decks. Just lots of lazy people. I left my boat in Bowen Harbour in October and made sure windage was reduced as much as possible. She came through with zero damage. I also think a boat on pile mooring is better off in a storm as there is some movement allowed, the boat can swing a few degrees into the wind.
